Rates revaluation, national minimum pricing, alcohol policy, town centre regeneration, environmental policy, tobacco legislation….. these are just some of the policy issues affecting the convenience store industry.

SGF is constantly updating MSPs about the concerns of community retailers.  However, when it comes to your own MSP and locally elected representatives, your voice can be just as powerful as ours.

SGF is seeking to help retailers build relationships with community leaders and is looking for politically interested retailers who would be interested in joining our Community Store Campaigners (CSC) initiative.   CSC seeks to achieve two things:  first to co-ordinate a grassroots campaign to support the political work we do and second: to help you gain access to the people that can make a difference.

CSCs can be powerful lobbyists because they are from local businesses and speak from their experience.

Being a CSC is not an onerous and SGF will help you every step of the way.  All that we require is you agree to take part in up to four letter writing campaigns a year.

Upon signing up to be a Community Store Campaigner you will sent an easy to use Campaigning Tool Kit which explains how to find out who your constituency and regional MSPs are, how to write to an MSP out of a letter writing campaign and how to attend an MSP surgery.
